Loved the extras August 10, 2010 KingdomKate 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Love the movie, obviously. The special features disk was almost as great as the movie - it has cast interview, behind the scenes, deleted scenes, music videos, animated story stuff, etc. If you are choosing between the one disk and two disk - I vote you choose this one.

I have read all the books (and loved them), seen Twilight a hundred times (and loved it) and now I have just seen New Moon and loved that too - and I'm 38. This series will appeal to anyone, in my opinion, even my husband really enjoyed it.
I must admit I did wonder before seeing this film if it would have the same feel as Twilight with it having a new Director but it is every bit as good as the first. The love between Bella and Edward and also Jacob and Bella is very palpable and really well acted. The scenery and backdrops are just as gloomy and eerie and the music creates just the right atmosphere. It's over a year since I read the book, but from memory this film stays pretty faithful to the book and really did it justice.
Whether you're Team Edward or Team Jacob, I'm pretty sure that if you're a fan of the books then you'll be a fan of this too. I loved it!
a film is never ever going to be as good as the book - so stop expecting it to be so August 14, 2010 Rebecca (county durham, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
By True Twilight Saga fans I mean the folks who have read all the books more than once BEFORE seeing the films .... like me! I really hate to see the films berated for not being as good as the book ... a film is never ever going to be as good as the book - so stop expecting it to be so!!!
As a massive & avid fan of the books. I absolutely loved New Moon, as I did Twilight - for the simple fact that all the characters I had imagined, the world I had imagined came to life in front of me, and showed me a different perspective from my own imagination.
Of course you can never fit everything in a film that is in the book, so you must forgive this - also please forgive the fact that Edward doesn't appear as much in New Moon - he does not appear much in the book!!! That is the whole point ... the angst of Edward leaving Bella, how she deals with this and turns to her friend Jacob for comfort and in turn discovers a whole new world she knew nothing about.
The film makers have stayed very true to the story, these are films that stay very close and true to the books - admirably so! The only holes are some parts from the book, nothing major, these are due to the fact that you cannot fit everything in - it would be impossible, as I said before! They got all the most important things from the book in the film, it was portaryed so, so well!
This film is amazing, the effects are amazing, they have truly captured the raw emotion, the feeling, the pain, the confusion and the action of the book. It really has been brought to life in front of my eyes. The casting is unbelievable, Kristen Stewart & Robert Pattinson were born for these roles!
I cannot wait for Eclipse and for my favourite... Breaking Dawn!!!
I know all TRUE Twilight Saga Fans will agree with me completely and appreciate these films for what they are.
Better than the book... August 18, 2010 Blackberry52 I have to say I love this film! I was struggling mid-way through the new moon book and decided to watch the film to provide the motivation during the 'Edward free' period and it really worked. The film seems to be better proportioned than the novel and is much more gritty than the first film, also thankfully they have got rid of Edward's dodgy eyebrows from the first film (what were they thinking!?). All in all a great film, especially the end, I won't give it away but I did scream with excitement! Enjoy.
A satisfying sequel that ramps up the action and romance August 17, 2010 Benminx (Plymouth) I was very surprised to find that I enjoyed the first movie, so checking this one out was clearly a must. Happily, it's handled at a slightly faster rate than Twilight, and this means more events and more teenage angst. Shortly after a frightening accident, Bella's soul-mate Edward does the unthinkable and splits up with her, leaving her devastated. However she finds something to enjoy about life again in friend Jacob's company, giving hope to his romantic feelings for her. However all is not well in the area - vampires are killing, their ancient enemies the werewolves are rallying their numbers, and Bella's taken an unhealthy interest in high-risk sports...
It's an excellently handled movie. The romance moments are given full Hollywood clout and have strong impact, aided by very committed performances from the central trio. The action is enjoyable and fairly violent, and the tension is masterfully handled, especially a trip to Rome and a tense and sadistic meeting with the vampire power-brokers the Vulturi. Lautner is given much more screen time thanks to his more important role this time out, and he gives a star-making turn. Pattinson breathes pure charisma, and Kristen Stewart is very convincing as emotionally conflicted and desperate Bella. There are some slightly shonky CGI effects with the werewolves, but they're not noticeable enough to damage the viewing enjoyment, and the action is nicely exciting.
As a film it's very enjoyable, and as a sequel it manages to raise the game, the tension and the romance all in one outing, nicely setting up a sequel with some surprising moments and plot hints. Very enjoyable.
